If you believe the description of Shofar Literary review matches your aesthetic, please note the following guidelines:

Currently, we are accepting unsolicited submissions through March 1st for our April issue.

We accept poetry (no line limits- maximum of 3 poems), flash fiction (under 1,000 words), and short Fiction (under 5,000 words).

One submission per person per issue.  Simultaneous submissions are acceptable provided we are notified immediately upon mutual acceptance elsewhere. Once agreed upon by both author and publisher for publication, the rights of any work submitted become the property of Shofar Literary Review until after publication, at which time, the rights return to the author. 

We reserve the right to edit any work pending publication.  The author will be notified in advance of any edits and may choose to withdraw his/her work accordingly.

Please no more than two submissions per year from any single author.

• Attach your document to the email as a word doc or rtf file.

Please include your last name and the type of submission in the subject line.  For example, Smith: Poetry submission.

In the body of the email, include your name, address, email address, and a small blurb about yourself.  We look forward to reading your work!

We hope to give you a response within several weeks.

Please add our email address to your safe list so our response doesn't go straight to your spam folder.

In the event that your work is published elsewhere afterwards, we presume Shofar Literary Review will be recognized as a previous publisher.    

Unfortunately, we cannot pay contributors at this point.  We appreciate your understanding.
